Lavoro con la carta, più precisamente riutilizzo carta di riviste, libri, cataloghi ecc.. La carta è un materiale molto interessante e complesso di per sé, ma diventa più intrigante una volta stampata, in quanto si trasforma in un raccoglitore di messaggi. E’ uno dei mezzi attraverso i quali vengono diffusi messaggi pubblicitari e il suo uso permette di sottolineare il ruolo che il consumo ha nella costruzione della nostra identità. Siamo ciò che compriamo. L'utilizzo della carta stampata consente allo spettatore di interagire con questioni che vanno oltre ciò che è immediatamente visibile, come l'effetto che il sovraccarico di informazioni ha sulle nostre vite, come il consumismo sta influenzando l'ambiente o come la tecnologia sta trasformando la nostra natura, il nostro rapporto con gli altri e la nostra identità.
Manipolando, trasformando, selezionando, tagliando e piegando la carta stampata, creo collage fisici 2d e 3d utilizzando diverse tecniche mescolando l’origami con il taglio della carta, il kirigami con la stratificazione del colore.
Il mio obiettivo è duplice: indagare il confine tra astratto e figurativo, creando così un percorso attraverso il quale i due diversi linguaggi possano misurarsi l'uno con l'altro, oltre che influenzarsi e alimentarsi a vicenda. Dall'altro, intendo analizzare fino a che punto la mente umana è in grado di ricostruire un'immagine, che viene elaborata a tal punto da diventare quasi una composizione astratta.

I work with paper, more precisely I repurpose paper from magazines, books, catalogues etc.. Paper is a very interesting and complex material in itself, but it becomes more intriguing when printed, as it turns into a binder of messages. It is one of the mediums through which advertising and consumption messages are spread too. The use of printed-paper is a way to emphasise the role that consumption has in the construction of our identity. We are what we buy and consumption functions as a way to create a sense of self. The use of printed paper let the viewer to engage with matters beyond what's immediately visible like the effect that information overload has on our lives, how consumerism is affecting the environment or how technology is transforming our nature, our relationship with others and our identity.
By manipulating, transforming, selecting, cutting and folding printed-paper, I create 2d and 3d physical collages using different techniques mixing origami with paper cutting, kirigami with colour layering.
My aim is double: to investigate the boundary between abstract and figurative, thereby creating a pathway through which the two different languages can measure themselves against each other, as well as influence and nourish each other. On the other hand, I intend to analyse the extent to which the human mind is able to rebuild an image, which is processed to such an extent that it almost becomes an abstract composition.
