Libro Espiral, Carta di cotone fatta a mano, filo di seta, 2008
Questo libro-oggetto nasce, quindi, prendendo come base la serie numerica di Fibonacci, che può essere rappresentata attraverso la struttura matematica di una matrice che, a sua volta, è l’origine della creazione e della ripetizione di tanti elementi naturali (la disposizione dei semi di un girasole, dei petali di un fiore, della scaglie della pigna, la forma del nautilus etc.)
Il numero di quinterni (34) che compongono Libro Espiral coincide con un numero della serie numerica Fibonacci; allo stesso tempo il libro-oggetto disegna una spirale che è la rappresentazione geometrica della stessa serie.
Si può considerare il libro stesso come una forma di matrice naturale che genera e conserva tutta l’essenza dell’umano. Fogli, parole, tracce, sentimenti, tutti ordinati come in una sequenza numerica, creano un’altra vita.

This object-book is inspired by the sequence of Fibonacci numbers, a mathematic pattern at the origin of creation and recursion of many natural elements (it appears in the sunflower seeds pattern, in the petals of a flower, in the sequence of a pinecone, the shape of a nautilus shell).
The number of signatures (34), of which the Libro Espiral is made of, is shaped on one of Fibonacci sequence; at the same time the object-book draws a spiral that is the geometrical representation of this sequence.
On the whole, we can consider the book as the shape of a natural pattern that creates and preserves all the human being essence. Sheets, words, traces, feelings, all of them arranged together as a sequence of numbers that create a new life.
